Weekend plans, past and future

We cancelled the camping trip when the weather forecast remained crappy; all that work packing was, let's call it "premature".

Turns out there's a short hiking trail here in Highland Park, starting behind Adelaide Gardens. It takes you to an old boat launch on the Raritan River, now in disrepair and covered with mud. Grazina told us that it extends all the way to the route 1 bridge, but it's pretty overgrown this time of year.

The wind was pretty low, not fast enough to get a kite to fly for more than a few seconds. That's a shame, because there's a decent-sized field down by the river.

We're planning to go to Harrisburg this weekend, and meet some folks to ride on a section of abandoned Pennsylvania Turnpike. This should be fun!
