The Improbable Improvables music rehearsals are going pretty well. The last several weeks have been brainstorming sessions, to come up with new material. We've got a 4-5 new parodies and some surreal music "happenings".
We're working towards a show this August (the exact date is here) and I'm hoping the music will be the strongest part of the show. This is of course part of my secret plan to turn the troupe into an all-music outfit (insert maniacal laugh here).
I've been missing song circle meetings and guitar pulls lately, due to various time conflicts. (For example, I'm mussing a guitar pull tonight as Martha's folks will be in town. Nothing in particular, just lots of little things.)
On the up side, even though I've gotten no "serious" music written lately, I'm starting to write song parodies. I'm still doing it in the context of group writing, but if I need Bruce and Graz to inspire me to silliness and irreverancy, so be it.
Last night Martha, myself, Bruce and Grazina started riffing on the user directions included with a cellular phone case. Yes, they have directions on a cellular phone case. I think we were tired but it was the funniest thing I've heard in a while.
